Vinyl Moon by Mahogany L Browne is a story about a young woman who has to leave California, the state where she lived her entire life, for a life in Brooklyn. This leads to her being outraged and essentially losing herself. However upon hearing her story the people of Brooklyn try to help the young woman named Angel to find herself again from the mess.

I enjoy this book as it’s quite relatable in my opinion. A girl does not like a certain state and has to leave her former life behind that he loved and career for so much she essentially loses her identity. This is powerful as it eventually says that even through words, while it may not heal everything, sometimes you can definitely stop the bleeding of past wounds.

I definitely recommend this book. While I did not have to move away to another state or country, I do relate to the fact that some people actually have to as a part of life. This is why I recommend this book as I understand life can never be perfect or even being something one can keep under control, but nonetheless you can manage to live another day through will.
