Review: Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman is the continuation of the book Scythe. You need to read the first book to comprehend this one. It talks about life after Citra has become Scythe Anastasia and Rowan has become Scythe Lucifer. While Rowan is on the run as a “criminal” he acts like a dark night bringing the world to justice as Citra acts cautiously because there is someone out to get her. New characters are introduced and you get to know the Scythe world a little bit better as the new book describes more about unsavories, the Tonist cult, and more.
I really loved this book as much as I did the first book. It is more action-packed as there are more things going on in this novel. But, the level of involvement and new conspiracies really bring the book together and makes you understand Scythe better.
I would recommend Thunderhead as it is a great book for teens and adults. If you enjoyed Scythe then you should definitely read Thunderhead. The novel reminded me of “Death Note.” Not because of the concept of “death” in itself, but how the motive of Rowan resembled so much of Light Yagami’s as they both try to kill all the corrupt people in the world.
